Olive Young Global vs. Olive Young US: What’s Actually Going On

If you’re a U.S.-based Olive Young Global shopper and you’ve been confused about coupon codes not working, account switches, or why your favorite Global storefront suddenly looks different, let us give you the important facts around the split between Olive Young Global and Olive Young US. Here’s what actually happening, all your questions about the new Olive Young US store answered!

Olive Young Global vs. US: Short Overview of The Changes

  • Olive Young launched a brand-new, separate platform just for U.S. shoppers: Olive Young US
  • The launch date was May 29, 2026
  • If you’re located in the U.S., Olive Young Global no longer ships to you — full stop!
  • A new loyalty program, O.Y MEMBERS, now runs exclusively on Olive Young US
  • The two platforms are run by different legal entities (Olive Young Global is under the original Korean parent company CJ, while Olive Young US is operated by a separate U.S.-based entity)
  • Due to FDA restrictions, certain Korea-made products e.g. sunscreens will NOT be available on the new Olive Young US platform
  • Olive Young US has also opened two new offline shops in California: one in Pasadena, the other in Century City, LA.
  • The US store now also runs separately in terms of affiliate programs, so if you are part of the OY Global affiliate program, your influencer codes will not work for your US followers, sadly

What Triggered The Split?

Olive Young rolled out a dedicated U.S. storefront and shifted U.S. customer service, shipping, and operations to that new entity. Practically, that means Olive Young Global and Olive Young US are now two separate businesses with separate rules, separate coupons, and separate everything — even though they share a name and a product catalog.

With the current tarrifs in place, the FDA restrictions and OY’s desire to expand in the US and open brick and mortar shops, Olive Young sees this change as neccessary to better tailor their experience to the US customers.

What Changes If You Switch Your OY Global Account to OY US?

  • Your registration date and beauty profile
  • Saved U.S. shipping addresses
  • Your points balance (with the expiration extended by two years)
  • Your Olive Young Global order history
  • Reviews you’ve written, for products that are also sold on Olive Young US

What Does NOT Transfer from your Olive Young Global account?

  • Any coupons you were holding on Olive Young Global
  • Your wishlist
  • Items sitting in your cart/bag

This is the big one for deal-hunters: any Global coupon you were saving is gone the moment you switch. There’s no carryover, sadly.

Olive Young US has promised new coupons, sales and US-specific deals, so we are all hoping for good deals as the new site develops!

A Few Other Things Worth Knowing:

  • The switch from Global to U.S. is one-way and cannot be reversed
  • Your new U.S. membership tier is based on whatever tier you held on Olive Young Global at the time you switch (some users have reported issues with losing Gold status – do reach out to OY US if this is the case for you)
  • Switching comes with a one-time bonus (currently 10 points) and your perks are locked in through June 30, 2027! If you qualify for a higher tier in the meantime, you’ll get upgraded automatically
  • This switch bonus is described as a limited-time offer, so it could change or end without much notice
  • If you were part of Olive Young’s affiliate program as a U.S.-based member, that’s been discontinued. It now only operates for non-U.S. members through Global. You can sign up with Rakuten for the OY US affiliate program.

Olive Young Global Switch To Olive Young US Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Can I still use Olive Young Global coupon codes if I’m in the U.S.?

No. Olive Young Global no longer ships to US addresses, and Global coupons aren’t valid on Olive Young US, so there’s no way to combine the two.

2. Why did my cart or wishlist disappear?

Cart items and wishlists don’t carry over in the switch from Global to US — only your account info, order history, points, and qualifying reviews transfer.

3. I’m not in the U.S. — does this affect me?

No, if you’re shopping from outside the U.S., you can continue to use Olive Young Global as normal. This split only affects U.S.-based shoppers. You can still use all the coupon codes listed on our coupon code post!

4. Do I have to switch my account right now?

If you’re in the U.S. and want to keep shopping with Olive Young, yes — Global no longer processes U.S. orders, so switching to Olive Young US is the only way to continue.

5. Will my points be worth the same after switching?

Your points transfer over and get an extended expiration date, but it’s worth checking current point-to-cash conversion rates on Olive Young US since loyalty program structures can differ between the two platforms.

3. How are the prices at Olive Young US compared to Olive Young Global?

Sadly, prices seem to have been raised significantly compared to the Olive Young Global store, especially since coupon codes from Olive Young Global cannot be used for the US store.

We advise US shoppers to wait for significant sales or special deals, which OY US has promised will come once the store has settled into its new routine. IF you can still shop at Olive Young Global, you are in luck!
